Nature of the service
Second Opinion Construction provides independent observations about construction estimates, proposals, scopes, and draft contracts based on the documents and information supplied by the customer. Findings are intended to help customers understand documents and prepare questions before signing.
Not legal, engineering, design, inspection, or appraisal services
The service does not provide legal advice, engineering, architecture, code inspection, property inspection, appraisal, insurance advice, or a guarantee that a contractor's price is fair or that a project will meet a particular cost, schedule, or quality outcome. Customers should consult qualified local professionals when those services are needed.
Customer responsibility
Customers are responsible for providing complete and readable documents, confirming local requirements, evaluating their contractor, and making all final contracting and project decisions. A review is limited to the material actually provided.
Turnaround
Published turnaround times are targets beginning after complete documents and required information are received. Complex, incomplete, unusually technical, or unreadable submissions may require a revised scope or schedule.
Payments and scope
Package limits apply to the number and type of documents stated on the pricing page. Work beyond the purchased scope may require an additional written proposal. Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's applicable terms.
No guaranteed outcome
Construction involves changing conditions, selections, labor, materials, design information, permitting, and contractor performance outside our control. No review can eliminate all omissions, disagreements, change orders, delays, or cost increases.
